My name is Manuel, I was born and raised in Andorra, and one of the things I most recommend to anyone visiting is heading up to a viewpoint. Since Andorra's villages sit in the valleys between the mountains, viewpoints are easy to reach and the views are great because you're up high with mountains all around.
And the best part is most of them are free and you don't need to walk much to enjoy them.
First I'll show you the 8 viewpoints I recommend most. Then in Viewpoints by parish you'll find the rest, sorted by parish so you can quickly find what's nearby.
If you fancy a dip afterwards, check out my guide to Andorra's lakes. And if you'd rather combine a viewpoint with a gentle, flat walk, here's my guide to easy trails, the ones I usually do with my family.

My top 8 viewpoints in Andorra
If you've only got time for a few, start with these. It's a mix of the most popular ones and a few personal favourites I really like.
For this selection I've prioritised viewpoints you can visit without doing a hike. Sure, the views from a summit are amazing, but that's for when you're hiking.
Here you'll find viewpoints you can drive to that are family-friendly.
| # | Viewpoint | Parish | Access¹ | Price | Season |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bosc de les Allaus | Encamp | 🚗 ~20′ | Free | Year-round |
| 2 | Canillo Tibetan Bridge | Canillo | 🚶 15′+ 5'🚌 bus | 17 € | Summer |
| 3 | Les Fonts Viewpoint | Escaldes-Engordany | 🚗 ~13′ | Free | Year-round |
| 4 | La Comella | Andorra la Vella | 🚗 ~10′ | Free | Year-round |
| 5 | Tristaina Solar Viewpoint | Ordino | 🚗 ~30′🚠 25′ | ~22 €² | Summer |
| 6 | Roc del Quer | Canillo | 🚗 ~20′ | 6 € | Year-round |
| 7 | Port d'Envalira | Encamp | 🚗 ~50′ | Free | Year-round |
| 8 | Coll de la Botella | La Massana | 🚗 ~25′ | Free | Year-round |
¹ Approx. driving times from Andorra la Vella / Escaldes-Engordany (centre).
² ~22 € at Tristaina is the gondola + chairlift return in high season.
³ Summer just means it needs to be snow-free — it only snows in winter really.
The highlighted viewpoints
1. Bosc de les Allaus Viewpoint Year-round
- 📍 Location: Encamp (Les Allaus area)
- 🚗 Access: By car
- 💰 Price: Free
- 🗺️ Map: Google Maps
I'd recommend Bosc de les Allaus because it's not far and it's right next to Encamp's free Tibetan bridge. Combining the Bosc de les Allaus viewpoint with the Encamp Tibetan bridge is a great free alternative to the Roc del Quer plus Canillo Tibetan bridge combo.
I actually suggest it that way in my 2–3 days in Andorra guide, where I pair them in the same morning. For more photos and how to get there, check out my Encamp Tibetan bridge page.
That said, the Canillo Tibetan bridge is bigger and more impressive. If you're going in winter you'll need snowshoes to get to the bridge.
2. Canillo Tibetan Bridge — The longest one Summer
- 📍 Location: Canillo (Vall del Riu)
- 🚌 Access: Official bus from Canillo + 🚶 15–20′
- 💰 Price: 17 € (combo with Roc del Quer 20 €)
- 🗺️ Map: Parking Els Arenys + bus
At 603 metres long and 158 metres high it's one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world. It's open from late March to late November and closes in winter due to ice and snow.
You can only get there on the official bus from Canillo (included in the ticket) and then it's a flat 900-metre walk to the bridge. If you're interested, I've got a complete guide to the Canillo Tibetan bridge with prices, hours and where to park.
3. Les Fonts Viewpoint — Central and right by a lake Year-round
- 📍 Location: Escaldes-Engordany (Engolasters road, next to the car park)
- 🚗 Access: Drive to the car park + 600 m on foot (about 10′)
- 💰 Price: Free
- 🗺️ Map: Google Maps
This one's my pick because it's super central — from here you'll see Andorra's centre tucked between the mountains — and it's right next to Lake Engolasters, so you can see two spots in no time.
From the Les Fonts Viewpoint car park near Lake Engolasters it's just 600 metres to the viewpoint, so it's well worth combining them. If you're driving, you can park and be enjoying the valley views in 10 minutes.
For the car park location and how to get there, check my Lake Engolasters guide.
4. La Comella Viewpoint — The best-known central one Year-round
- 📍 Location: Ctra. de la Comella i de la Plana, 29 (Andorra la Vella)
- 🚗 Access: By car, roadside
- 💰 Price: Free
- 🗺️ Map: Google Maps
La Comella is my other central recommendation and I suggest it because you can drive right up to it. The Comella area's also known for a picnic spot a bit further up.
I used to go there with my parents now and then as a kid. There's a barbecue area and a big grassy space to play.
For parking you can pull over on the bend right next to the viewpoint — by the bins there's space for 2–3 cars.
5. Tristaina Solar Viewpoint — The highest, without much walking Summer
- 📍 Location: Ordino (Ordino Arcalís)
- 🏔️ Altitude: 2,700 m
- 🚠 Access: Drive to Arcalís + 10′ gondola + 15′ chairlift + 🚶 15–20′
- 💰 Price: ~22 € gondola + chairlift (high season, return)
If you want views from higher up and don't feel like hiking, this is the one. The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint, also known as Andorra's sundial, is reachable in high season by gondola + chairlift, so you'll be at the highest viewpoint on this list — 2,700 metres — without breaking a sweat.
The views are different because you're on a peak, Pic de Peyreguils. You've got high-mountain scenery with the Tristaina Lakes below, without needing to hike.
If you've got half a day, combine it with the circular Tristaina Lakes trail (4.4 km, family-friendly). I've got a complete guide to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint with trails and tips.
6. Roc del Quer Viewpoint — Only if you're doing the Tibetan bridge Year-round
- 📍 Location: Canillo
- 💰 Price: 6 € (2026)
- 🚗 Access: Drive to the car park
- 🎯 Type: Walkway over the void
When I went I enjoyed it, and back then it was free. The hanging walkway is cool and the valley views are lovely.
But at today's price I wouldn't recommend it if you're only going for the viewpoint, because there are free alternatives I've just mentioned.
Where I do recommend it is if you're doing the Canillo Tibetan bridge. Even though it costs, I think it's worth it because it's pretty impressive, with a huge drop beneath you. The free alternative in Encamp is nice, but it's smaller and not the same thing.
So if you fancy it, grab the Roc del Quer as a bonus with the Tibetan bridge — it's not mandatory. Since you're already there for the bridge, it doesn't cost much to add the viewpoint and you can tick off two things at once.
Heads up: for the Tibetan bridge you need to leave your car down in Canillo village and take the bus included in the ticket. If you want more photos, prices and how to get there, check my complete guide to the Roc del Quer and my Canillo Tibetan bridge guide.
7. Port d'Envalira Viewpoint — At 2,400 m, right by the road Year-round
- 📍 Location: Port d'Envalira (2,408 m), on the French border
- 🚗 Access: By car, roadside on the CG-2
- 💰 Price: Free
- 🗺️ Map: Google Maps
It's very close to the top of Port d'Envalira at 2,400 metres and you can drive right up to it. There's parking right next to the viewpoint, by the roadside.
It's super handy if you're coming from France or heading that way because you can skip the tunnel, take the pass and enjoy those great views over Pas de la Casa.
8. Coll de la Botella Viewpoint — The one with the teacup Year-round
- 📍 Location: La Massana (Erts/Arinsal area)
- 🚗 Access: By car, roadside
- 💰 Price: Free
- 🗺️ Map: Google Maps
It's one of the most popular viewpoints in Andorra and that's why I've included it here. If you've heard about a viewpoint with a teacup, this is the one.
Next to the information panel there's the sculpture "Storm in a Teacup", a giant cup that's become very photogenic. From the pass you'll see the Arinsal valley.
Bonus: scenic walks near the centre
If you fancy combining a viewpoint with a flat, easy walk, these two near Andorra la Vella are my favourites. I do them often because my dad lives right by the start of the Rec del Solà and I know them well.
Rec del Solà — Sun and views over the centre
The Rec del Solà runs along the sunny side of the valley — great for winter or spring. It's about 5 km there and back (1h15) and flat once you've done the initial climb. You'll see the centre from above and it's suitable for everyone.
There are several entry points in the centre. Here's my Rec del Solà guide with a map and access points.
Rec de l'Obac — Shade and views
The Rec de l'Obac goes along the shady side, with lots of shade and perfect for summer. It's also about 5 km (1h10), flat and wide, with amazing aerial views of the capital.
If you want more details about the Rec de l'Obac or you're looking for more easy walk options, check out my easy family routes in the area.

When to visit the viewpoints
Most roadside viewpoints (La Comella, Coll de la Plana, Coll de la Botella) are open year-round.
High-mountain viewpoints and those that need a walk — Grau de la Llosa, Coll d'Ordino or the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint — are only accessible in good conditions between June and September (with luck from May to November). In winter you can reach those spots with snowshoes or ski touring.
