Lakes, viewpoints and mountain trails

The mountains are the best thing about this country, and most people only see them from the car. There are glacial lakes you can walk to in twenty minutes, suspended bridges above the valleys and trails that start in the middle of the towns.

I've walked most of them myself. Below you'll find the ones I recommend, from the easiest stroll to the first via ferrata.

Escape the Heatwave in Andorra

I compared the daily maximum temperatures during the August 2026 heatwave in Andorra la Vella, El Pas de la Casa, Toulouse and Barcelona, using official data from Météo-France, AEMET and Andorra's National Meteorological Service. El Pas de la Casa stayed up to 15.8°C cooler than Toulouse. The perfect refuge from the heat is around 2 hours from Toulouse or 3 hours from Barcelona.
