Sales Calendar in Andorra

Sales in Andorra are similar to Spain but usually start a few days earlier. You can take advantage of additional discounts that stack on top of already competitive duty-free prices.

☀️ Summer Sales 2026

📅 19 June - 30 August 2026

Summer sales start on Friday 19 June and end on Sunday 30 August. Perfect for refreshing your wardrobe with summer clothes, sports footwear, electronics and more.

Additionally, this year private sales have been regulated, running from Friday 12 June to Thursday 18 June, exclusively for loyalty programme customers. This is a new development that lets shops offer early discounts to their regular customers.

❄️ Winter Sales 2025-2026

📅 26 December 2025 - 8 March 2026

Winter sales start right after Christmas and last until early March. This is the ideal time to buy winter clothes, footwear, ski equipment and household items with big discounts.

🎿 Sports Equipment Sales

📅 6 February - 19 April 2026

If you need ski or snowboard gear, wait until February. Sports equipment sales start later and that's when you'll find the best prices on skis, boots, technical clothing and accessories.

🛍️ Black Friday and Cyber Monday

📅 Last Friday of November

Andorra also takes part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, especially in electronics, perfumery and fashion. Discounts combine with duty-free prices, which can result in significant savings.

The biggest shops like Pyrénées, Illa Carlemany and perfumeries Júlia and Gala usually offer special promotions. You'll also find deals at electronics and sports shops.

Store Hours in Andorra

Hours vary a bit between shops, but here are the typical hours you'll find at most stores.

📍 General Hours (Monday to Saturday)

Most shops are open from 10:00 to 20:00, though some close at midday (around 13:30-15:00).

📍 Sunday Hours

On Sundays hours are usually reduced, with closing at 19:00.

📍 Hiperpas in Pas de la Casa

The Hiperpas supermarket in Pas de la Casa opens at 7:00 am, handy if you arrive early.

🏬 Shopping Centre Hours

The main shopping centres have longer hours. Here's a quick summary:

  • Pyrénées: 9:00-21:00 (Mon-Sat), 9:00-20:00 (Sun)
  • Illa Carlemany: Shops 10:00-21:00 (Fri-Sat), otherwise 10:00-20:30

Public Holidays: When Shops Close

In Andorra there are only four public holidays when most shops close. The rest of the year they're open, including Sundays and other holidays.

📅 Closed Public Holidays

Shops in Andorra close only 4 days a year:

  • 1 January: New Year
  • 14 March: Constitution Day
  • 8 September: Our Lady of Meritxell (Patron Saint of Andorra)
  • 25 December: Christmas Day

💡 Note: Some restaurants and petrol stations do open on these days, but the vast majority of shops are closed.

Practical Tips for Your Shopping Trip

🚗 Avoid Sunday Queues

When I go to France and have to come back on a Sunday, especially in peak season, I try to return before 3-4 pm. After that, when the ski slopes close, queues build up significantly.

It's happened to me more than once — stuck in traffic. Lots of snow, people not moving, and more than twice we had to wait many hours. It's rare, but better to go at 3 pm when there's less traffic than to risk it.

🅿️ Where to Park for Shopping

In Andorra la Vella (Centre)

If you're shopping in the centre, I recommend parking at Pyrénées or Leclerc. Both shopping centres offer 2 hours free with purchases, and you're right in the centre to walk along Avenida Meritxell.

Plus, if you're coming from the French side and spend more than 99€ at Leclerc, they give you a ticket for a free Envalira tunnel crossing. You save about 10 minutes of travel time and avoid the Envalira pass, which in winter can be snowy and more complicated.

In Escaldes-Engordany

If your shopping is from Illa Carlemany northwards, you're in Escaldes-Engordany, where the blue zone is free on Sundays and public holidays. For a central covered option, Empark Escaldes Centre is right next to the shopping centre. Check the Escaldes-Engordany parking guide.

In Pas de la Casa

Next to the shops there's a fairly large car park where I've always parked without issues. Finding a spot is usually easier than in Andorra la Vella.

For more info about shopping in Pas de la Casa, read our dedicated article.

For more detailed parking info, read our complete parking guide, where I explain all the options, prices and tips by parish.

Hotels Near the Shopping Area

If you're coming for shopping, the ideal is to sleep nearby so you don't have to take the car every time you want to visit a store. The outlets and Av. Meritxell are right in the centre of Andorra: Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany. So the hotels in this area leave you 5-15 minutes walk from almost everything.

In this section I'm giving you 3 hotels in the centre that I recommend: a 4-star (Hotel Metropolis), a more affordable 3-star (Hotel & Aparthotel Cosmos) and the cheapest of all, a hostel in the old town (Barri Antic Hostel & Pub). All three are within walking distance of the shopping area and I've chosen them to cover three different budgets.

1️⃣ Hotel Metropolis - 4★ with the best rating (Recommended)

Rating: 9.3/10 · 🏨 Category: 4 stars · 📍 Location: Escaldes-Engordany (~10 min walk from Av. Meritxell) · 🅿️ Parking: 18€/night (ample parking)

Hotel Metropolis is a 4-star and has one of the best ratings in the area. It's in Escaldes, right next to the river, and the walk to Av. Meritxell goes through Prat del Roure park and the Dalí Clock: very pleasant for walking with shopping bags. It's about 20-30€ more expensive than the Cosmos, but the room, breakfast buffet and staff treatment justify the difference.

"The room with an extra-large bed, the very complete breakfast buffet, the soundproofing, ample parking (depending on the vehicle they assign you one or another), perfect. 5 minutes from Caldea and 10 from the centre."

2️⃣ Hotel & Aparthotel Cosmos - 3★ with cheap parking

Rating: 8.2/10 · 🏨 Category: 3 stars · 📍 Location: Andorra la Vella, right in the centre · 🅿️ Parking: 18€/day

The Cosmos is a well-located 3-star, right in the centre of Andorra la Vella. Its private parking costs 18€/day, one of the most reasonable prices among central hotels. If you come in low season you can find rooms for €80. I recommend it if you're looking for an affordable option without giving up being right in the heart of the shopping area, and also if you prefer having parking included in the price.

"We decided to pay for the hotel parking (€18) since everything in the centre is paid parking. Very central hotel. The breakfast buffet was very complete, all the staff were very friendly. Clean and cozy room."

3️⃣ Barri Antic Hostel & Pub - The cheapest option

Rating: 8.9/10 · 📍 Location: Barri Antic, Andorra la Vella (old town)

If you're looking for the cheapest option right in the centre, I recommend this hostel in the Barri Antic (old town) of Andorra la Vella. It has its own pub, shared kitchen and a very pleasant youthful atmosphere. Most guests are young backpackers or couples on a tight budget. To park you can use Parking Madriu (€2.10/day, 30 min walk) or look for blue zone/free parking nearby.

"Central location, with a bar downstairs that doesn't disturb you at night at all. Really friendly and helpful people. I'll be back."
